According to the National Consumer’s League, credit cards are the safest way to shop online — you are liable for $50 maximum if you are billed a fraudulent charge.

If you are dissatisfied with the Web site’s service or the products delivered, using a credit card gives you some recourse. Since the credit card funds are not immediately withdrawn from your account, you can dispute a charge using all the muscle of Visa, Amex or MasterCard.

I’ll be interested to see if America has its consumer confidence back this retail season, I have a feeling things will be less than stellar at shopping malls in some harder hit communities across America. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. We should save more than spend this holiday season, shouldn’t we?

You’ve whet my appetite for delicious shopping bargains. The trouble is I’m usually too full of turkey and stuffiing the day after Thanksgiving to get moving. Cyber Monday? Now that’s a different story!
